Curriculum: Physics of Quantum Technologies
Our students will be able to use the knowledge and the skills acquired taking this curriculum in order to tackle research problems both at the theoretical level in the realm of quantum information and at an applied level in the realization of new quantum technologies. Among these we mention the analysis of quantum communication systems in presence of a noise source, the development of new measurement schemes with superior outputs in comparison with the classical ones, the proposal and the development either of integrated optical physical system or of nanostructures necessary for quantum computation.
In the activities, of paramount relevance will be the interdisciplinary skills acquired during the studies. These shall allow our students to carry on their research activities as part of a PhD programme or to find interesting jobs in different sectors ranging from that of communication to that of informatics, sensor technology, metrology, nanotechnologies, photonics, security, artificial intelligence and robotics.
